SUMMER ACTIVITY (5) – AUGUST 2018
A WALK IN THE WOODS AND A STABLE VISIT
For this session everyone walked along a brook, through the woods to a stable. The walk took an hour and was full of chatter in various groups. Once at the stables the owner gave them a ‘tour’ round and told them about the individual horses and their related care, and how to muck out and groom with a chance to brush, plait and saddle them.
After this they moved into the adjacent paddock where everyone ate their lunch before taking part in horse shoe decorating. This produced some fab results and they were pleased with what they had created!
A quick trip to the visitor centre and then ice creams to refuel for the walk home!
