Seeing London from a height
A group of our Young People were taken on a fabulous day out in London to see the city from up high!
The day started with a train trip from Essex into London which is always good fun.
The first visit was to The Monument. 311 steps were climbed to the top and the bravest viewed London from the viewing platform. A Certificate of Achievement was awarded to all those who took part. This was followed by a glorious walk across London Bridge, through Borough Market, around the Cutty Sark and ending up at Tate Modern. There they all enjoyed a picnic in the sun and then it was off to the viewing gallery on the 10th floor where they spotted various landmarks that they had seen from The Monument earlier in the day.
Outside Tate Modern was a water spray mist installation which the Young People ran in and out of, squealing with delight and getting pretty damp in the process!
Next, it was back over the Thames via the Millennium Bridge towards St Paul’s for ice-creams and a quick look at the gift shop near the Tower of London.
The Young People and the Support Workers had such a fun day out and everyone is looking forward to the next trip!
